In 2001, 12 years before "Dunk City" took the entire nation by storm to the Sweet 16, a group of unlikely individuals came together to launch the FGCU basketball program as the inaugural team. There was no gym. There were no games. It would be 14 months before they'd practice on their own court, at the first Midnight Madness. This is the story of the season that didn't count, but actually meant everything.
